Laos reports no new COVID-19 case for 8 days

No new COVID-19 case has been recorded on Monday in Laos for eight consecutive days.

Sixteen more suspected cases were tested negative, and the total number of COVID-19 case in Laos remained at 19, Lao Deputy Minister of Health, Phouthone Meaungpak told a press conference on Monday.

As of Monday, Laos tested 1,349 suspected cases with 19 cases tested positive, and two patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.

Fourteen patients are treated in designated hospital -- Mittaphab Hospital (Hospital 150) in Vientiane capital, and three cases are treated in provincial hospital in Luang Prabang.

Laos announced its first two COVID-19 confirmed cases on March 24.
