Mishra recommended new chief justice

KATHMANDU, Aug 23 (APD) -- The Constitutional Council (CC) on Thursday recommended Acting Chief Justice Om Prakash Mishra to the post of Chief Justice.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bhanubhakta Dhakal said a meeting of the CC took the decision to this effect. Mishra is currently serving as the Acting Chief Justice after the parliamentary hearing committee rejected then Acting Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshi to the post of Chief Justice.
