Hong Kong hosts world's largest gift fair

A gift show, the world's largest, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), and printing and packaging fair, openedlast Saturday (27 April) and continued through 30 April.

Nearly 4,500 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions participate in the two global trade shows,namely The HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair and the Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging fair.

Six new product zones

The 28^th^ Gift Fair attracts more than 4,100 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, including first-time participation from Zambia, and 16 group pavilions.

The fair highlightssix new product zones: "Boutique Deluxe,", the "Hong Kong Design New Force,", the "Value-for-money Gifts zone,", as well as specialised product zones "Jewellery Galleria", "Scarfs & Ties" and "Sunglasses.".

The popular "Small-Order zone," which launched last year, is back, featuring products in more than 320 showcases.

ODM & OBM** to sharpen competitive edges**

The Hall of Fine Designs returns this year, presenting the designer products of more than 140 brands, including: Cerruti1881, Christopher Vine Design, Kimmidoll, Lexon, Nina Ricci, Panda-a-Panda, SEMK and Swarovski Elements. More than 760 exhibitors are also showcasing trend-setting offerings in the World of Gift Ideas, while iAccessories is spotlighting gadgets and accessories for smartphones and tables.

In recent years, original design and eco-friendly products are playing increasing roles in whole giftware industry. To encourage these ODM’s and OBM’s products, the Hong Kong Exporters' Association (HKEA) displays the latest product from local designers in DesignVillage.In addition, the second "Hong Kong Smart Gift Design Awards 2013" initiated by HKEA attracts 300 original design entries from Hong Kong corporations and students this year. Also the winning products are showcasing at Hall 5E throughout the fair period. The awards presentation ceremony was held at last Saturday Night.

High-Tech Printing and Packaging**

The 8^th^Hong Kong international Printing and Packaging Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Ltd, host more than 360 exhibitors, including newcomers from the United States and Vietnam.

Highlighted products include high-end printing and packaging solutions for luxury goods and premium gifts in an elegant setting at the De Luxe zone, as well as high-security anti-counterfeiting labels, 3D printers and advanced RFID tagging systems.
