At least seven Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire as mass rallies broke out along the border fence between Gaza and Israel, Reuters reported, citing officials.

Around 500 people were injured by tear gas, rubber bullets and gunfire during the protest.

The protest was held to mark the 42nd anniversary of "Yom Al-ard" (Land Day), which commemorates violent demonstrations in 1976 in the wake of land confiscation by Israel that belonged to Palestinian citizens living there.
