Xi sends congratulations to China's first Intl Consumer Products Expo

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent a congratulatory letter to the first China International Consumer Products Expo, which held an opening ceremony in Haikou, capital of south China's Hainan Province on the same day.

Xi said in his letter the event will facilitate the world economy's recovery and boost as well as help China to provide more fine quality goods to the world.

The event, scheduled for May 7-10, will be the first international expo to be held in Hainan since China released a master plan in June to build the island province into a globally influential and high-level free trade port by the middle of the century.
