Xi congratulates Thongloun on party leadership election victory

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Xi Jinping on Friday congratulated Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister of Laos, on his election as the new general secretary of the country's ruling Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee.

Xi said he is willing to join hands with Thongloun to promote building China-Laos community with a shared future, and make positive contribution to safeguarding regional peace and stability.
