Indonesia is trying a different approach to mass COVID-19 vaccinations, focusing on inoculating younger, working people (age 18-59) first, along with frontline workers. The theory is that young people are the ones often out of the house and working, and thus more likely to spread the virus.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo, 59, became the first person in the country to receive the coronavirus vaccine Wednesday, but Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, 77, will have to wait because of his age.
