An oxygen bar, which provides oxygen to its customers to breathe, has opened up in Delhi, the capital of India. The need was felt as air pollution continues in Delhi.

Aryavir Kumar and Margarita Kuritsyana have opened the bar. According to an Indian Express report, “Delhi’s first-ever oxygen bar — named ‘Oxy Pure’ — offers 15 minutes of 80-90 per cent pure oxygen starting from Rs 299.”

Though the bar was opened in May, it has now become popular, as the pollution in Delhi has increased.

Nasal canula, with a tube is given to customers in the bar to enable the supplementary intake of oxygen.

The customers can choose from flavours or aromas. The options available range from lemongrass, lavender, cherry to eucalyptus.

The aromas are infused in oxygen. Each session also promises to improve health and benefit in healing sinus, correcting sleep patterns and aiding digestion, curing headaches and migraines.

The report quoted a doctor explaining that there are no long-term benefits, though there are no side effects as well.

“Even if you breathe in the so-called pure oxygen for two hours in a day, you will go back to breathing the polluted air for the rest of the 22 hours,” he said.
