Saudi Arabia condemned on Sunday Turkey's decision to send troops to Libya for violating the UN Security Council resolutions.

"The Turkish parliament's approval to send military forces to Libya is a violation of the UN Security Council resolutions issued on Libya," the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency.

The statement also slammed the Turkish move for undermining the international efforts to solve the Libyan crisis, saying it is contrary to the decision made by the Council of the Arab League on Dec. 31, 2019.

The Turkish move poses a threat to security and stability in Libya as well as the Arab and regional security as it intervenes in the internal affairs of an Arab country, the ministry said.
