The United States on Friday confirmed a third case of the novel coronavirus infection with an unknown origin in Oregon's Washington County.

This is the third case of possible "community spread" in the U.S., in which the patient does not have a relevant travel history or been exposed to another known patient.

Earlier, two patients in California were confirmed to be infected by the novel coronavirus with an unknown origin.

In a White House press conference on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump said, "We are very, very ready for this. For anything whether it's going to be a breakout of larger proportion, or whether or not we're at that very low level."
