2 killed, 26 injured as passenger buses catch fire in Pakistan's Punjab

At least two people were killed and 26 others injured when two passenger vans caught fire after colliding with each other in Pakistan's east Punjab province on Sunday night, local Urdu media reported.

The casualties are feared to rise as more injured people are being brought to hospital and 16 among the 26 injured are in critical condition, Dunya News said.

The killed are the drivers of the both vehicles.

Reason of the head-on collision is not known yet, but police said that over speeding of one of the buses might be the culprit.

The accident happened in Uch Sharif district of Punjab.

One of the buses was on its way to north Rawalpindi city from southern port city of Karachi while the other was heading towards Karachi from Rawalpindi.
