The vice premier called for utmost efforts to treat medical workers who were infected with the novel coronavirus.

WUHAN, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Sun Chunlan on Tuesday called for all-out efforts to treat medical workers who were infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Sun, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, is leading a central government team guiding the epidemic control work in Hubei Province.

On behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, Sun extended regards to the infected medical personnel with the Tongji Hospital, Union Hospital and Zhongnan Hospital via video connections.

She learned about their health conditions and urged them to take good care of themselves, noting that hospitals admitting them should make good use of the medical resources and carefully make treatment plans.

For those in severe condition, personalized treatment plans should be made, said Sun.

Relevant authorities, especially in Hubei and Wuhan, should help solve the problems infected medical workers are facing, she added, stressing measures to rotate medical workers, step up their protection and increase their benefits.
