World food prices soar to record high amid Russia-Ukraine conflict

The UN's food and agriculture agency says world food prices saw a significant leap in March due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

As Russia and Ukraine are both major producers of wheat and coarse grains, the conflict has led to reduced exports and increased the cost of transport from the two nations.

And the crisis has brought more challenges to farmers, forcing them to reduce crop planting.
