Morocco's airports recorded 6,523,369 passengers during the first 11 months of 2020, down 71.68 percent year on year, the Moroccan Airports Authority ONDA said Saturday in a statement.

The drop in traffic has impacted all the Moroccan airports amid COVID-19 spread in the North African country.

Casablanca international airport, Morocco's biggest airport, received 2,689,222 million passengers, down 71.57 percent year on year, the statement added.

Morocco had suspended all the national and international flights since March 15 until June 25.

The state carrier Royal Air Maroc has approved plans to cut jobs and sell 20 aircraft in order to get through the COVID-19 crisis.

The Moroccan government also granted a package of 650 million U.S. dollars in loans and subsidies to the company.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Morocco reached on Friday 412,393 confirmed cases and 6,854 deaths.
