FBI looks into Bangladesh blogger killing

The Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI) of the United States, which has shown interest to help the investigation into the murder of blogger Niladri Chatterjee Niloy, Sunday sat with Bangladesh cops.

The FBI team comprising of two U.S. and one Bangladeshi went to the office of Detective Branch (DB) of Police on Sunday morning.

Mahbub Alam, DB deputy commissioner, told journalists after the meeting that FBI members wanted to know what kind of support Bangladesh detectives need to better the investigation of the killing.

Unidentified attackers on Friday hacked the blogger Niladri Chatterjee Niloy to death in the capital of Dhaka.

It was the fourth such attack in less than six months in the Muslim-majority country.

An FBI team earlier also visited Bangladesh after the murder of another Bangladeshi writer-blogger Avijit Roy, a U.S. citizen. Enditem
