2 soldiers killed, 2 injured in firing in Pakistan

At least two soldiers were killed and two others were injured when some unidentified militants fired at an army vehicle in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan, local media reported Wednesday.

Urdu TV channel Dawn quoted unnamed official sources as saying that some unknown gunmen opened fire at a vehicle used by the military-run construction company, the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) in Miran Shah area of the restive North Waziristan Agency on the Pakistan-Afghan border.

Two soldiers were killed on the spot while two others got injured.

Security forces cordoned off the area and shifted the injured to the nearby military hospital.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Following the incident, political administration of North Waziristan imposed curfew in the area.

In another incident in the neighboring Banu area, two people were killed in firing by unknown gunmen.
