A high-ranking member of Fatah movement warned Monday that the U.S. Mideast peace plan may lead to a forced displacement of Palestinians.

Nasser al-Qudwa, a member of the movement's central committee and a former diplomat, made the remarks at a political workshop held in Ramallah.

"The U.S. plan, the 'Deal of the Century,' is putting incapable terms for establishing an independent Palestinian state and in fact it doesn't recognize the existence of this state," said al-Qudwa.

The official added that "basically there is no deal or peace plan in Trump's mind. It is just part of a U.S. policy that began with rejecting the two-state solution, recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and legalizing settlements."

Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump revealed the long-awaited political aspect of his Middle East peace plan, a proposal that has been repeatedly refused by the Palestinians.
