Afghanistan's traditional Loya Jirga or grand assembly of tribal elders and notables after four-day debates approved a security pact know as Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) with the United States on Sunday, deputy to the Jirga Abdul Karim Aymaq said while reading out the resolution issued at the end of the Jirga.

"The second article of the resolution said that keeping in mind the security condition of Afghanistan and its need to the support of the international community, the Loya Jirga supports and approves the BSA with the United States of America," he said.

The resolution wants the security pact should be inked by the end of 2013, he added.
