ExtremedemocraticlawmakerLeungKwok-hungurgedthecrowdtofighttoothandnail,inapeacefulbutincooperativemannterfora“genuineuniversalsuffrage.Headdedtheexlusionofcivilnominationimpliestheimpossibilityofinvolvementofcandidateswithoutpoliticalpartymembershipsintotheelection,whichisbynomeansacceptable.
Ontheotherhand,EmilyLau,ChairladyoftheDemocraticPartyofHongKong,toldtheAPDthateventhoughshebuysthe“oneperson,onevotemechanism,itisnotaneccesarycriteriontoconstitutinguniversalsuffrage.
