DUNHUANG, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Dunhuang, a city in northwest China's Gansu Province, enters July with strong recovery of tourism.

The city, which boasts the Mogao Grottoes, a 1,650-year-old UNESCO World Heritage site home to more than 2,000 colored sculptures and 45,000 square meters of murals, sees a constant stream of tourists all day.

Since the start of July, the city of Dunhuang has become a hotspot for tourism, as the number of tourists jumped compared with May and June. Thanks to this, the city's night-time economy has been growing fast.

In Dunhuang Night Market, tourists pour in after dark. Recreation activities vary from a tasting of local cuisines to watching the handicrafts on display.

Every day, the market runs from 4 o'clock in the afternoon to 2 o'clock in the morning. The downtown market opened on April 30, and so far has entered its high season for tourism
