2 killed, 8 injured as political party office stormed in Pakistan

At least two people were killed and eight others injured on Sunday night as an office of a political party was stormed in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, local media reported.

According to the reports, the incident took place when some unknown miscreants attacked an office Awami National Party (ANP) in the Glushan-e-Buner area of Landhi Town, Karachi.

ANP leader Senator Shahi Syed said that the unknown assailants first opened fire at people present in the office before hurling a hand grenade at them.

The attackers who were riding on motorcycles run away from the scene easily after the attack.

The office in charge and one party worker got killed on spot while eight others sustained injuries.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to the Jinnah Hospital of the city where three of the injured were reportedly in critical condition.

Rangers and police blocked all roads leading to the spot and also cordoned off the area to launch a search operation.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Earlier on Saturday, at least four people were killed and five others including a metropolitan commissioner injured in two different bomb blasts in the city.
