At least 13 killed in roadside incident in north Pakistan

At least 13 people were killed and several injured after a passenger van rammed into a gas pipeline in north Pakistan on Sunday morning, Xinhua reports citing local Urdu TV channel Dunya.

The van, travelling from Rawalpindi to Peshawar, crashed into the gas pipeline on the roadside.

Rescue workers rushed to the scene and transferred the victims to hospital.

Most of the victims were killed by a fire that broke out following the collision, said the local authorities.

According to local hospital sources, women and children were also among the deceased.
