The inauguration of the Olympic Truce Mural took place here on Sunday at the PyeongChang Olympic Village, with "Building Bridges" themed murals installed in both of the Olympic Villages in Gangneung and PyeongChang.

According to the organizers of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, the mural is "a reflection of a bridge as it signifies PyeongChang's vision to use the Olympic and Paralympic Games to open bridges between nations and help achieve a better world through sports."

This is one of the good reasons why PyeongChang is welcoming not only the global Olympic Family but also media, spectators and visitors from around the world toward building bridges through the Games," said Thomas Bach, head of the International Olympic Committee, at the inauguration ceremony.

"PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games is a Games of peace. The unveiling of the Olympic Truce Mural today is a physical reminder of the message of peace and a symbol of everyone uniting together for sport," said Lee Hee-beom, president of the PyeognChang 2018 Organizing Committee.
