6.6-magnitude quake hits Alaska: USGS

A quake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale struck 60km east of Buldir Island, Alaska, at 2234 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 111.8 km, was determined to be at 52.450 degrees north latitude and 176.808 degrees east longitude.

The USGS initially said the quake measured 6.7 on the Richter scale. No causalities from the tremor were reported yet.
