Blast hits police vehicle in Pakistan's Quetta city

A low-intensity blast hit a police vehicle in Pakistan's southwestern city of Quetta on Monday morning, police and local media said. No causality was reported yet.

Local media quoted police as saying that the blast took place at the main entrance of a market located in Hazar Ganji area of Quetta, the provincial capital of the country's southwest province of Balochistan.

The blast damaged a police vehicle partially at the entrance, but the policemen sitting inside remained safe. The explosion also destroyed two other vehicles parked nearby.

Security forces, bomb disposal squad, and police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. A high security alert was announced in the city following the attack.

No group has claimed the attack yet.
