As the winter approaches, and pollution level increases in Delhi, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is attempting to make changes to improve the air quality in the capital.

CPCB, on Friday asked private and government offices in Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) to allow their employees to work from home.

The board also advised people to use car-pool to get to their office. Schools were asked to provide transport facilities to their students so that vehicles do not crowd outside schools in Delhi.

The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) taskforce met the representatives from different government agencies on Friday and made the recommendations to them.

Te advisory also applies to the reas like Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad and Noida that are in the outskirts of Delhi.

Prashant Gargava, member secretary of CPCB was quoted in a media report explaining, “These recommendations are advisory in nature, but such participation from the public will go a long way in controlling the air quality.”
