Volunteers in southeastern California are passing out water and food to those in need as the area faces extreme heat.

As a heatwave brings miserable conditions, the northern half of the state is seeing deadly wildfires.

Fueled by dry land, the Dixie Fire burned through a mountain town, burning historical buildings dating back to the California Gold Rush era.
