Cholera outbreak kills at least 115 in war-torn Yemen

A cholera outbreak in war-torn Yemen has killed 115 people and left 8,500 others thought to be infected by the water-borne disease as hospitals struggle to cope with an influx of patients, said the International Committee of the Red Cross on Sunday.

This is the second outbreak of cholera in Yemen in less than a year. Polluted water or food is the probable cause.

Food imports are at all-time low in the country as many of its ports have been blockaded. The United Nations warns that 17 million people, or two-thirds of the country's population, are at risk of famine.
