Thailand's anti-government protester leaders said on Monday that they will proceed mass street demonstration as planned despite the dissolution ofmass street demonstration.

They told TV channels that the protests would continue the simultaneous marches to the Government House although the lower house has been dissolved.

Suthep Thaugsuban, core protest leader, had called on people from across the nation to join the massive rally on Monday, which he said would be "the final showdown with the government."

Earlier in the day, Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra announced in a televised speech the dissolution of the House of Representatives, which is now awaiting royal approval.

The protesters, who have been united as the "People's Democratic Reform Committee," rejected the House dissolution which would pave way for a fresh general election. They demanded Yingluck to step down and hand power to a "people's council".
