Flag-raising ceremony for India, Pakistan held in SCO

Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has officially welcomed its two new members at a flag-raising ceremony in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

India and Pakistan were formally admitted to the security bloc at the 17th SCO Summit in Kazakhstan last week.

It's the first expansion of the SCO since its establishment in 2001, adding the number of the group to eight.

SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov said their admission will enhance regional security and economic cooperation.
