India extends visas of all stranded foreigners till April 30

Indian government has extended visas of all foreigners stranded in the country, due to the travel restrictions in view of the novel coronavirus outbreak, till April 30, said an official statement issued by the Ministry of Home on Monday.

In order to get the visa extended, the foreigner national needs to make an online application.

"Regular visa, e-visa or stay stipulation, of such foreign nationals who have been stranded in India because of spread of COVID-19 and due to consequent travel restrictions imposed by Indian authorities and whose visas have expired or would be expiring between February 1 and April 30 would be extended till April 30 on GRATIS basis, after making online application by the Foreigner," said the statement.

In order to remove confusion, the Ministry of Home had on March 28 granted consular services on GRATIS (free) basis to foreign nationals, presently residing in India due to travel restrictions in the context of COVID-19 outbreak, till April 30.
