Senior official stresses organizational guarantee for securing victory in battle against poverty

Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Chen Xi on Friday underscored the need to provide a strong organizational guarantee for securing a victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the battle against poverty.

Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee's Organization Department, made the remarks at a meeting attended by the Party's organization department chiefs from across the country.

Efforts should be focused on training a contingent of competent officials who are loyal to the Party, have moral integrity and demonstrate a keen sense of responsibility, he said.

Chen noted that a scientific and targeted system for selecting and appointing officials should be improved and implemented.
