Tokyo logs record high daily cases of COVID-19 for 3rd straight day

Tokyo recorded 3,865 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, authorities announced, hitting another daily record high as the city has become Japan's biggest COVID-19 hot spot.

It is the third straight daythe Olympic host city has logged a record figure after reporting 3,177 COVID-19 cases the previous day, casting a pall over the Olympics.
