"After Earth" leads China's box office

American sci-fi adventure "After Earth" topped China's box office charts for a second week making 102 million yuan (16.6 million U.S. dollars) at movie theaters.

The film, stars real-life father and son Will and Jaden Smith.

"Mr. Go," about a Chinese girl's adventure with a gorilla in the professional baseball league in the Republic of Korea, took 63 million yuan in the week which ended July 21, China Film News reported on Wednesday.

"Bunshinsaba 2," a horror, came third in the charts, earning 50.5 million yuan.

Jay Chou's second film, "The Rooftop," was fourth in the charts, making 48.3 million yuan. The drama is about a poor man who falls in love with a celebrity.

"Blind Detective," a thriller starring Hong Kong actor Andy Lau, came fifth in the charts, earning 36.2 million yuan. The film tells the story of a veteran detective's efforts to help probe a murder case.
