An Albanian court ruled Monday that Albania's central bank governor Ardian Fullani would be put under house arrest after release from jail.
Fullani was arrested on Sept. 5 on the charges of "abuse of office" over the theft of 713 million lek (6.63 million U.S. dollars) from the bank's vaults by an employee, who has admitted to stealing money over the past four years.
The court also ruled that the bank's head of Internal Audit Bahri Allushi should be put under house arrest.
The bank's inspector general, Elivar Golemi, was also arrested over the same charges as Fullani and awaited trial in jail.
