Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen received a foreign guest at the capital's Peace Palace on Monday morning, ending rumors that he had suffered a severe stroke.

"Prime Minister Hun Sen met with ex-Singaporean minister for foreign affairs George Yong-boon Yeo, chairman of the Hong Kong- based Kerry Logistics," Eang Sophalleth, spokesman for Prime Minister Hun Sen, told reporters after the meeting.

In the meeting, Yeo said his company had planned to open a logistics branch in Cambodia and sought support from the premier.

In response, Hun Sen welcomed the investment and advised Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Keat Chhon and Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sok Chenda to examine legal aspects in order to grant a license to the company to operate in Cambodia.

The prime minister's appearance on Monday has ended rumors across social media on Sunday that users passed along reports that Hun Sen experienced a massive stroke on Friday afternoon and had been sent to Calmette Hospital before being sent to Singapore for medical treatment.
