Authorities are trying to find nearly 90 inmates who escaped from a prison in Brazil's northeastern state of Rio Grande do Norte.

Local officials say 88 prisoners escaped by crawling through a 30 meter long tunnel, which went underneath one of the walls surrounding the facility. Only nine of the escaped inmates have been recaptured.

The prison was built to hold 436 inmates, but had a population of 589 before the escape. This is the second prison break this year from the same penitentiary.
