It is a very unfortunate thing... very often, young women get married just after graduation. Often that is because of the immense pressure the family - grandparents usually - put upon these girls. I have had numerous discussions with young women, about to graduate from college and many complained to me that they were already being pressured to marry and produce a child. That is really too bad, because many of these young women were brilliant students and ready to serve their country.

The thing is, I do bless them if they really love each other, if they do have a better understanding of love, if they do think they can manage the oncoming problems facing their marriage. Following trends, or following your true heart?

There is never a right time to get married. Even people who are older getting married face various problems and sometimes get divorced. Marriage isn't about having "enough" money, being out of school for "enough" time or the "perfect" career path. It's about instinct. You know. You commit. You live.

I've known quite a few people who married straight out of graduation. Most didn't work out and got divorced. I wouldn't recommend getting married right after graduation. People change so much after graduation that it's hard to predict whether the couple will be compatible in the long run. I'm for focusing on career first and getting married later.

I got married straight from college five years ago and it's been hard. Financially, yes. But, that doesn't mean we regret it. I'm not going to tell others that they should get married young, right out of college, whatever. Everyone's different. Everyone is on different life paths and different maturity levels. Some people need to get married young and others don't need to get married at all. But always be prepared since marriage is one of the biggest decisions of your life.
