China's Liaoning reports no new local COVID-19 cases

SHENYANG, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- No new confirmed locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases were reported in northeast China's Liaoning Province on Thursday, the provincial health commission said on Friday.

One new imported case was reported on Thursday in the coastal city of Dandong, according to the commission. The patient is a Filipino crew member from a ship that docked at the port of Dandong on Aug. 3.

By the end of Thursday, Liaoning had reported a total of 259 confirmed cases, including 35 imported ones. Two people had died, and 165 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery.

There are 23 asymptomatic people still under medical observation, the commission said. ■
