Peru deported more than 130 Venezuelan migrants accused of committing crimes in the country.

Last week, Peru's interior ministry Carlos Moran created a police squad to specifically deal with migrant crimes.

"These are not honorable people. They are not Venezuelans who have come here to carve out a better future in our country, fleeing a dictatorship. That's why the government has taken the decision to separate and expel these bad Venezuelans," Carlos said.

There are more than 860,000 Venezuelans in Peru, the second-largest number of migrants after Colombia.

The U.N. says around 4.5 million Venezuelans have fled the humanitarian crisis in their country since 2015.
