Digital Secretary Oliver Dowde’s decision of banning Huawei 5G technology, is regretted as it may deprive the British people of a hi-tech well-advanced technology. New restrictions will also apply to the use of the company's broadband kit too.

5G is set to completely transform the way we do business. Bringing enormous data capacity, rapid speeds, and incredibly low latency, 5G marks a huge step up from its predecessor 5 reasons why 5G is the future image. Not only does 5G promise to boost efficiency and unleash the potential of automation, but it will also enable us to explore developing technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). 5G is a game-changer and future of the World.

Advanced countries were working on 5G technologies for long. They have invested huge funds and still not mature enough to commercialize it, Yet, China is the only county ahead of the rest of the world. China has made a major breakthrough and matured to commercialize it. China is implementing 5G successfully and promoting worldwide. It is a business practice that the high-techs may be commercialized and earn good profits.

This decision of the British Government has faced criticism within the country as well as abroad. First of all, it is against the WTO regime and has distorted the UK image of a free and fair trading nation. People wanted to opt for the latest technology in their life, social sector, Industry, and commercial activities, with this decision, the UK might be left behind, other competitors. Huawei was the largest Chinese Investor company in the UK and have employed 16000 workers. It is definitely, with this decision the Huawei may lose its business and consequently, will reduce the number of its employees accordingly. Joblessness might create political unrest and push backward the national economy. In this regard, the Chairman of Huawei UK has resigned already.

It is not a decision meeting the merits, but only a political decision because of American coercion. The US has in the campaign against China and wanted its allies to support the US. While, after Brexit, the UK may face multiple challenges, it will add more difficulties for the UK in the days to come. Depending on the US, may not be helpful, as the US is also struggling for its survival.

The recent events in the outbreak of Pandemic, the US was not able to extend any help to its allies at all. The US has not capacity to rescue others while suffering the highest loss in Pandemic. It will be too early to say that banning Huawei 5G, will be compensated by the US or not, but, surely, the public in the UK may suffer a lot.

Instead of creating tension with China, cooperation might be more useful for the UK. Both sides can address each other's concerns and may reach an agreement to satisfy each other amicably. Unilateral decisions may harm Huawei, but even more harm to the UK itself.

Huawei said the move was "bad news for anyone in the UK with a mobile phone" and threatened to "move Britain into the digital slow lane, push up bills and deepen the digital divide."

China's ambassador to the UK said the decision was "disappointing and wrong". "It has become questionable whether the UK can provide an open, fair and non-discriminatory business environment for companies from other countries," tweeted Liu Xiaoming.

However, the official reaction from the Chinese Government is yet awaited.
