Chinese Ambassador to Turkey Deng Li on Saturday sent his message of greetings on the occasion of the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year also known as the Spring Festival.
In his speech given at the Spring Festival reception held in the capital Ankara, the Chinese ambassador wished a farewell for everyone to the pains and difficulties of 2019, expressing hope for well-being and blessings in 2020.
Mentioning that last year witnessed the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Deng hailed the great development China has achieved over the last 70 years.
In 2020, China will finish the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects and eradicate absolute poverty, he said.
The path of development of China will never be easy, but we have courage for tomorrow and confidence in our country as we are under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and with the favorable systems, Deng noted.
The reception gathered hundreds of guests from Chinese enterprises in Turkey, press, Chinese students in Turkey and others.
According to the Chinese lunar year, 2020 will be the Year of the Rat which falls on Jan. 25.
