A fire broken out Monday evening at Stables market, a major retail market in London, leading to the evacuation of around 600 people, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said Monday.

"The fire at Stables Market on Chalk Farm Road can be seen from miles around. We were called just before 8 p.m.," the LFB said on its twitter feed.

"Fire has broken through the roof but smoke has dissipated. No one is involved," Borough Commander Richard Welch said at Stables Market.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers are attending a fire at Stables Market on Chalk Farm Road in Camden of London, according to the LFB.

"A number of railway arches used as shops are alight. Around 600 people were evacuated from the area before the Brigade arrived," the LFB said in a statement.

Fire crews from Kentish Town and surrounding stations are at the scene. No injuries have been reported yet.

"Due to the fire on Chalk Farm Road, Camden High Street is closed. All traffic is diverted up Kentish Town Road. Use other routes, expect delays," the Transport for London (TfL) Traffic News tweeted.
