Three people were killed and at least six others injured in a shooting incident at a graduation party in Florida, US, police said on Sunday.

The shooting is the latest in a series of gun violence in the Miami area.

Reports on the latest shooting indicate that the party was ending when one or more vehicles "pulled up and began to fire into the crowd."

The identities of those killed had not been released at the time of publication.

"I'm horrified by this tragedy and heartbroken for the loved ones of those we lost," said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. "We will not allow a small group of violent actors to terrorize our community. We must protect the safety and wellbeing of all Miami-Dade families and swiftly bring all those responsible to justice."

On Sunday last week, another shooter opened fire at a Florida club killing at least two people and wounding at least 20 more.
