A new book on relations between Singapore and China has been launched at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

The book, "Singapore-China Relations: 50 Years," was published by Singapore's World Scientific Publishing.

As the year of 2015 was the 50th anniversary of Singapore's independence as well as the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and China, Phua Kok Khoo, chairman of World Scientific Publishing, said the book would be an important volume to review ties between the two countries in the past 50 years.

"The book is one of the latest and important volumes published to record the substantive and multi-faceted Singapore-China Relations," Phua said on Tuesday.

"The timely publication showcases flagship projects and other key private sector-led projects of bilateral cooperation," said Professor Zheng Yongnian, the book's chief editor and director of NUS East Asian Institute.

"It also highlights the unique or distinguishing features of Singapore-China relationship."
