KATHMANDU, Oct 29 (APD) – Nepal's Prime Minister KP Oli has been admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu this morning. He was rushed to the hospital early this morning at around 4 am after he complained of breathing complications.
Prime Minister Oli, who has been suffering from seasonal influenza for the last few days is undergoing treatment at the Manmohan Cardio-thoracic Vascular Centre at the TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu.
Doctors at Manmohan Cardio-thoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre said PM Oli's chest was infected and his sugar level was imbalanced. “There is gradual improvement," Cardiologist Dr Arun Sayami, a member of the team looking after Oli, informed the press this morning. Dr. Sayami added that PM Oli would be requested to stay at the hospital for next two days.
PM Oli had stayed away from public meetings and other programs for the past few days. On Saturday, he could not attend a tea reception organized by his party -- Nepal Communist Party – due to illness. Meanwhile, party Co-chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, party leader Jhalanath Khanal, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, among others visited the hospital to take stock of PM Oli’s health.
PM Oli had undergone a kidney transplant surgery at the Apollo Hospital in New Delhi in 2007.
