Strict regulations will be imposed on the use of private vehicles in the capital, New Delhi in November.
The Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal announced last week that the limit will be placed from November 4 to 15 with the purpose of cutting down pollution.
Kejriwal said, "Pollution levels have come down in Delhi recently, and we're determined and committed to bring them down further and that's why we've decided to introduce these steps."
The decision has been made to improve the quality of air in the capital as it deteriorates severely during the winter months.
People will be able to use private vehicles following an odd-even number formula as on one day only cars with even numbers will be able to drive and the next day only odd.
Plans are also there to introduce 1,000 electric buses in the capital soon. New Delhi has been called the most polluted capital city in the world since the last few years, making the government work on a plan to cut pollution.
Besides, the government has also identified areas in Delhi where the pollution level is very high, so that work can be done there to improve the air quality.
