Kenya's COVID-19 cases rise to 621 after 14 test positive

Kenya's health ministry on Friday confirmed 14 new cases of the novel coronavirus, making the total number of infections to 621.

Rashid Aman, chief administrative secretary for health, said that the cases were discovered from 922 samples which were tested in the last 24 hours.

Aman said that 13 cases were picked by surveillance teams while one case is from a quarantine facility.

The official said that five people have been discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of those who have recovered from the respiratory disease to 202.

Aman observed that so far 29,430 samples have been tested since the outbreak of the pandemic was reported in the country.

He further revealed that out of the 14 cases that tested positive, there is an 11-month-old baby.
