Pakistan's Army Chief General Raheel Sharif met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and the top commander of foreign troops in Kabul on Wednesday and shared the " vital elements of intelligence with concerned authorities," about the latest terrorist attack in Peshawar.

A total of 141 people including 132 children were killed in the terrorist attack at a school on Tuesday, according to Pakistan's army spokesman Maj Gen Asim Bajwa.

Pakistani Taliban had claimed responsibility for the deadliest attack. Security officials say that senior Pakistani Taliban leaders have fled to Afghanistan and now operate from the Afghan side of the border.

The spokesman told reporters on Tuesday that the security forces have "identified those behind the terror attack" and that those who had been giving instructions to the gunmen, who massacred the children.

General Raheel Shari visited Kabul on Wednesday and held separate meetings with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and General John F Campbell, ISAF commander, said the spokesman.

The Afghan President assured General Raheel Sharif that the Afghan soil will not be allowed for terrorist activities against Pakistan and any signature found in this regard will be immediately eliminated, a statement by the army's information wing said.

Matters related to security situation along the Pak-Afghan border region came under discussion, said the statement.
