Continental, a German automotive manufacturing company, believes that China will win the battle against the novel coronavirus outbreak, due to the strong will and capability of the Chinese government and people. The company is confident in the sustainable growth of the Chinese economy and automotive industry in the long term, according to Enno Tang, president and CEO of Continental China.

China is the world's largest car market, and Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, is known as a "motor city" for being home to many auto plants.

"Although the outbreak has been impacting Chinese economy and in particular automotive industry, in which Continental is engaging, we truly believe the short-term dip cannot change our full confidence in the sustainable growth of Chinese economy and automotive market," Tang told CGTN.

He considers that it's the duty of all enterprises in China to fight the battle. Tang said that the company has donated five million yuan (about 715,000 U.S. dollars) "to help meeting the most urgent needs and to provide assistance in this critical situation."

"Continental pays the highest attention to the coronavirus outbreak. We are undertaking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all our employees," he added.

Continental has been in Chinese market for 25 years. And Tang stresses that the company continues to invest in China, and is confident in "the strong wills and capabilities of the Chinese government and people to win this battle."
